How does Spacex Raptor engine Work?

SpaceX Raptor enigne Fuel Pump v2 .jpg

SpaceX's Raptor engine is one of the most powerful rocket engines in the world. With 350 bars, it holds the record for the highest chamber pressure among all rocket engines, playing a crucial role in the success of Starship. So, how does SpaceX's Raptor engine work?" It employs the full-flow staged combustion cycle to generate thrust. A schematic of the cycle is provided here to enhance understanding of the engine's working principle.

The fuel is depicted in red within the diagram. It exits the tank and enters the fuel pump directly, where the fluid's pressure is inc...  Read the full post here

Reactionless Drives Explained

Reactionless drives, wich are hypothetical propulsion systems, claim to achieve thrust without expelling mass or propellant. With this they are challenging the established principles of Newton's third law. The primary objective of building these propulsion systems is to revolutionize space travel by eliminating the reliance on traditional propellants. In this post some of the most interesting reactionless drives are presented... Read the full post here

Rocket Engine Cycles Explained

The Gas Generator cycle is the most simple cycle. In this cycle portions from the Main Fuel and oxidizer steram are fed into the preburner. In the preburner fuel and oxidizer are burned, and the hot gases are directed in to the Turbine. The Turbine then drives the fuel and oxidizer pumps. The exhaust of the turbine is dumped overboard, through a small nozlle which also creates a small amount of thrust. The pressurized fuel and oxidizer main streams are led into the combustion chamber and burned. If the engine is regen cooled the fuel flows, beofre entering the combustion chamber, around the nozzle walls.... Read the full post here
